The slabs are naturally split to create a unique texture and rustic appearance, adding a touch of elegance to any outdoor design.
The Raj Green Mixed Patio Pack includes a variety of slab sizes, allowing for creative and customized designs. The slabs can be laid in different patterns, such as random, linear, or herringbone, giving you the flexibility to create a personalized look that complements your outdoor space.

Materials You Will Need:
- Natural Kandla Grey Sandstone Slab
- Base material (such as crushed stone or gravel)
- Landscape fabric
- Masonry saw or chisel
- Rubber mallet or dead blow hammer
- Level
- Jointing sand
- Broom or brush
- Protective gloves and eyewear
- Site Preparation: Start by preparing the area where you plan to install the patio pack. Ensure that the ground is level, free from debris, and well-drained.
- Base Preparation: Excavate the marked area to a depth of at least 150mm (6 inches) to create a stable and level base. Remove any soft or unstable soil and replace it with a layer of compacted hardcore or MOT type 1 aggregate.
- Weed Control: Lay a geotextile weed membrane over the compacted base to prevent weed growth and maintain a stable surface.
- Bedding Layer: Spread a layer of sharp sand or mortar mix (4 parts sharp sand to 1 part cement) over the weed membrane to create a bedding layer for the patio slabs. Use a rake or a screed board to level the sand or mortar mix to the desired thickness, typically around 30-40mm (1.2-1.6 inches).
- Lay the Slabs: Carefully place the Raj Green Mixed Patio Pack slabs onto the bedding layer in the desired pattern, leaving a gap of around 10-15mm (0.4-0.6 inches) between each slab for jointing.
- Cutting Slabs: If necessary, use a suitable saw or cutting tool to trim the slabs to fit within the layout or around any obstructions, ensuring clean and accurate cuts.
- Jointing: Once all the slabs are laid, fill the gaps between the slabs with a suitable jointing material, such as dry sand or a jointing compound. Brush the jointing material into the gaps and compact it gently with a brush or a pointing tool to ensure a tight and even joint.
- Finishing Touches: Clean the surface of the slabs and remove any excess jointing material. Rinse the patio with water to help settle the jointing material and ensure a clean finish.
- Sealing (Optional): If desired, you can apply a suitable patio sealer to protect the Raj Green Mixed Patio Pack slabs from staining and weathering. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for application and drying times.
